Charles was born to William & Mercina on 2 Nov 1904, when Mercina passed away & was brought to Whitesville for burial in Rural Cemetery. Charles was a very small baby & William Whitney lived in the Country above Genesee Pennsylvania. Emma & Wallace Gleason adopted him on December 1st 1904, he was very small & had to be carried on a pillow for a long time & he also had a very bad hernia when he was a baby.
Charles went by the name of Gleason after the adoption and is buried under that name as he asked. He married in Florida in Feb 28th 1973 and died Sept 12th 1973 and is buried besides my mother and father here in Andover. Source: Letter by Leah (Gleason) Green
