* Thomas left Wayne Co Tn around 1858, with his brothers Amos and John, along
with sister Louisa, and another sister, and moved to the southwest corner of
Newton Co AR. He enlisted in the Confederate army there at the age of about
45, but went AWOL, and never returned back to service. He served as Justice
of the Peace in Newton Co AR and postmaster after the war. (Wayne Co TN
History, 1995, p 181)
