Obit in Canton Pa, Sentinal for Mrs. Patience Doty in 1904
Mrs. Patience Doty, wife of Abner Doty, for many years a resident of this place,
died at the home of her niece, Mrs. C.M. Smiley, in Topeka, Kansas, May 25, aged
85 years. She is survived by her husband and son, M.R. Doty, of
Burlingame, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. Margery Randall, of Union. Mrs.
Doty was a member of the Christian Church, a woman of sterling worth, bright
intellect and her sweet and genial nature made her the agreeable companion of
both old and young. Her memory will be cherished by a large circle of old
friends, neighbors and acquaintances in Canton and vicinity.
"None knew her
but to love her, None named her but to praise." Her years were many, but
when the Master called she heard. "A low sweet voice from Eden stealing.
Such as but to angels known. Hope's cheering song is ever thrilling.
It is better farther on." continued on next column...
