Wellsville Daily Reporter 2/18/1932 – George Mattison, Andover Man Dies – Andover Feb 18 – The people of this community were saddened yesterday when word was received that George Mattison had passed away. But the news was not entirely unexpected since it has been generally known for the past few years that his health was very poor and that for the past three weeks he has been confined to his bed by a complication of diseases.

George Henry Mattison was born in the township of Andover May 2, 1867, making him nearly 65. He was the son of Stephen and Rinda Slocum Mattison. On October 7, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Rose Coats who survives him.
 


Wellsville Daily Reporter 5/13/1942 – Mrs. Rose Mattison Dies in Andover – Andover May 13, Mrs. Rose M. Mattison 69, died yesterday at her home here. She had been ill five weeks.

Mrs. Mattison, resident of Andover 40 years, was born June 5, 1872 in Shongo a daughter of Samuel and Augusta Barrett Coats. She was married October 7, 1889 to George Mattison who died February 17, 1932.

Deceased is survived by her daughter in law Mrs. Floyd Mattison; two grandchildren; Mrs. Clifford Bliven, all of Andover, and Mrs. Allen Hosley, Allentown; five great grandchildren; two brothers – Elmer Coats, Andover and Ralph Coats, Scio and one sister, Mrs. Emma Gleason, Andover. Services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the late home. The Rev Lloyd Tebo will officiate with burial in Hillside Cemetery.
