Stella Tempero Sellmer went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday Jan. 9, 2011, at her home in Heron, Mont. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 2010, just before Bill went home to be with the Lord.

Stella was born March 30, 1927 in Newburg, Ore. Her family moved from there to Libby, Mont., and then to Billings, Mont. In the fourth grade, she moved to Heron, where she resided most of her life.

Stella has five daughters, Irene Anderson of Thompson Falls, Darlene Stover of Noxon, Sandra Sellmer of Spokane, Wash., Ginger Hageman and Diane Marich both of Heron, Mont. She has 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Stella was an extraordinary woman and worked along side her husband in their logging business. She drove cat and ran chainsaw, bucking up logs in the landing while he drove loads of logs to the sawmill.

She was a loving mother who always had time for her girls. She is well known for her love of the Lord and His people and was never too busy to help people in need. She is known for her extraordinary faith in God and being a mighty prayer warrior whose prayers moved the hand of God.

She was a woman who never backed down from what she felt was right. She served on the Heron School Board and was instrumental in saving the Heron community center and school building when they were being put up for sale. She served on the Methodist church board for years and was a licensed lay minister with them. She taught Sunday school, held VBS each year, led women’s Bible study and was president of the Ladies Aid Society while at the Heron Methodist Church. During this time she was also a member of the Solid Rock Church.

She worked very closely with her daughter, Pastor Irene Anderson, putting on retreats for women and youths for 15 years. When New Life Fellowship church began in 1993 Bill and Stella left the Heron Methodist Church and Solid Rock Church to become members of New Life Fellowship in Thompson Falls.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at New Life Fellowship Jan. 22, 2011, at 1 p.m. Mountain Standard Time with dinner served immediately following. There will be a graveside service at Heron Cemetery following the dinner.

Family and friends are invited to sign Stella’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint, Idaho.
