DANVILLE -- Jessie Lee Smith, 97, of Danville died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at
Mitchell's Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 13, 1908, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie
Arthur and Lela Carr Staggs. She was a homemaker and
mother, and a member of Plainview Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Allen Smith; daughters, Peggy Sue Stewart and Betty Lou Smith;
brothers, Noble Staggs and
Opal Staggs; sisters, Ruby
Staggs and Lola Shubert; great-grandsons,
Jacob, Samuel and Lucas Smith; and great-great-grandson, Bradley Smith.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Cleva Smith and
Robert and Loa Smith, all of Plainview; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and
Larry Bates of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 12
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Plainview Church of Christ with Butch
Gossage officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

DANVILLE — Lola Marie Holland Schubert, 89, of Scott, La., died Thursday, May
26, 2005, at Nampa, Idaho.
Born Aug. 11, 1915, at Danville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and
Lela Carr STAGGS and a member of Plainview Church of Christ. She was
preceded in death by husbands, James Holland and Herman Schubert.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Holland of Sacramento, Calif.; four daughters,
Jean Kniffin of Boise, Idaho, Patricia Ann Sonnier of Scott, La., Darlene
McCullers of Valley Springs, Calif., and Freda Aime of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister,
Jesse Smith of Danville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Plainview Church of Christ with William
Gossett Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral
Home.
