<p class=3DMsoNormal>Jacob Elizabeth Robinson was my great grandfather and =
is as
far back as we have been able to trace the family line thus far.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>He was married three times and the
father of 21 children.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>There =
were
three children in his first marriage: William (killed in Civil War), Whitfi=
eld,
and Jim (who married Jane Smoke).<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>Mary Skipper that lived at Hague was Jim&#8217;s youngest daughter.<=
/p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>The third marriage was to Jane <span class=3DSpellE>Fe=
rguerson</span>
and they had two children &#8211; Joe and <span class=3DSpellE>Echyln</span=
>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Some of the children of the three
marriages died in infancy.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>The second marriage is the one we branched from.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Jacob Elizabeth Robinson was born =
in
1812 in Orangeburg District. S.C.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>They moved to <st1:State w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"on">Florida<=
/st1:place></st1:State>
about 1850.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Grandma <span
class=3DSpellE>Sauls</span> was about 3 months old.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Jacob Elizabeth Robinson died in 1=
880 of
pneumonia and his wife died in 1868 soon after the birth of one of their
children.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>They were both buri=
ed in
the old <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Family</st1:Place=
Name> <st1:PlaceType
 w:st=3D"on">Cemetery</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> on the old home place &#8=
211;
now known as the <st1:Street w:st=3D"on"><st1:address w:st=3D"on">Cox Place=
</st1:address></st1:Street>
&#8211; in the Bland Community of Alachua County.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Property now owned by J.L. Matthew=
s.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Martha Selena Smoke, our great grandmother was the sis=
ter of
Dr. Sam Smoke, and Jane Smoke that married Mr. Robinson&#8217;s son Jim.<sp=
an
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>They also had a half brother Aaron=
 Smoke
of S.C.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The Smokes came from =
<st1:City
w:st=3D"on">Holland</st1:City> and the Robinsons from <st1:country-region w=
:st=3D"on"><st1:place
 w:st=3D"on">England</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Martha Smoke&#8217;s father was a =
Methodist
preacher.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Jacob Elizabeth Robinson&#8217;s father was an orphan =
&#8211;
as I have stated his people were English.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&=
nbsp;
</span>They went from <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">England</st1:country-=
region>
to <st1:City w:st=3D"on">Holland</st1:City> and then came to the <st1:count=
ry-region
w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"on">United States</st1:place></st1:country-r=
egion>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>His father must have married in <s=
t1:City
w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"on">Holland</st1:place></st1:City> &#8211; h=
is grandmother
bound him out to Stone Masons trade &#8211; Uncle Sam Robinson learned the
trade and also his sons.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Aunt Mattie Merchant, (sister of my grandmother Farmer=
 who
was later Mrs. <span class=3DSpellE>Sauls</span>) said that her Dutch great
grandmother came from <st1:City w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"on">Holland<=
/st1:place></st1:City>
sometime in the 1700&#8217;s.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span=
>Jacob
Elizabeth Robinson was raised by his Dutch Grandmother.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>He had a half sister that was marr=
ied in
this country.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>This old grandm=
other
lived 110 years and in her 100<sup>th</sup> year cut a full set of teeth.<s=
pan
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>They were not as hard as the usual=
 teeth
are.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Our great grandfather Robinson&#8217;s house &#8211; C=
ox place
in more recent years &#8211; was begun in 1867 and completed in 1868.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Every board, shingle etc. was hewe=
d, <span
class=3DSpellE>plained</span> and dressed by hand.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The family moved in August 1868, b=
efore
the house was completed.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>Grandmother Robinson was then 44 years old and about to have another
child.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span><span class=3DGramE>(S=
he was
born about 1824 in S.C.)</span><span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </sp=
an>Her
brother, Dr. Smoke, advised her to go to Worthington Springs and bathe and
drink the <span class=3DGramE>Spring</span> water.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Aunt Mattie Merchant was about 7 y=
ears
old when they moved into their new home.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Our Robinson grandparents and Dr. Smoke also my grandf=
ather
Farmer were buried in the old Robinson cemetery on the place.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>John Jacob <span class=3DSpellE>Sa=
uls</span>,
my grandmother&#8217;s last husband, and Aunt Mattie Merchant and family are
buried at <st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">Spring</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceType =
w:st=3D"on">Hill</st1:PlaceType>
<st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Methodist</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st=3D=
"on">Church</st1:PlaceType>
(both cemeteries in <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Alach=
ua</st1:PlaceName>
 <st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">County</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>).</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>There were six children to live to manhood and
womanhood:<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>They were Delbert
Robinson that married <span class=3DSpellE>Virgilia</span> Crews, Samuel Ro=
binson
who married Patty <span class=3DSpellE>Riveare</span>, Mary Jane Robinson w=
ho
married first <span class=3DSpellE>Jame</span> Manley Farmer and second John
Jacob <span class=3DSpellE>Sauls</span>, <span class=3DSpellE>Ausberry</spa=
n>
Robinson, Martha Ann Robinson married Ad Merchant and John Robinson that
married <span class=3DSpellE>Mamie</span> Height.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
