Warren L. Hughes

Warren L. Hughes of Glasgow, Mont., 70, died from natural causes on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at the Valley View Home in Glasgow.

He was born April 17, 1934, in Dilo, Mont., to William M. and Ruby Marie Johnson. He was raised on the family homestead near Turner. He moved to Hot Springs in 1955, where he lived until 1960. On June 4, 1960, he married Joanne Sell at Hot Springs and they moved to Jordan. He lived in Jordan until 1979 where he worked for the county as a heavy equipment operator. He also enjoyed farming and ranching.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Hughes of Glasgow; three sons, Warren M. “Hermie” Hughes Jr. and Roy E. “Patchz” Hughes, both of Glasgow, and Kirk D. Hughes of Breckenridge, Minn.; one daughter, Laurie A. Lasar of Glasgow; three sisters, Sylvia Anderson of Anaconda, Rose Lehner of Jordan and Carol Ippisch of Missoula; one brother, Raymond Hughes of Polson; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m., at the Lutheran Church in Jordan. There was a private family burial. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.
