F.A. Staggs dies

Franklin Andrew Staggs passed away here March 9 at the age of 84. He was born in Izard County November 17,
1874, and spent most of his life in Independence
county. He was
a Methodist.
He was married March 23, 1896, to Marietta Gray and to this union ten
children were born, one preceding him in death.
Survivors include seven sons, Herman Staggs of Cave City,
Coy and Willie Staggs of Eatesville, Elisha Staggs of
Oil Trough, Paul Staggs of Wichita, Kans., Lorenzo Staggs of
Nashville, Tenn., and Allen Staggs of Palo Alto, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs.
Edna Dickey of Batesville and Mrs. Norma Manuel of McHue;
one brother, Harvey Staggs of Blanket, Tex.; one half-brother, Lee Covey of
West Fork, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and 20 great –grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Chapel
Church with Eld. H.A. Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Gray’s Chapel near Cave City.
The body will be at Crouch Funeral Home with arrangements to
be directed by Newport Funeral Home.
