BERTHA L. TEMPERO
 
Hot Springs.
    Bertha L. Tempero, 89, passed away on May 20, 1999, at Evergreen Hot Springs Rehab Center.
 
     Bertha was born to Edwin and Sarah Hughes on October 14, 1909, in Hyannis, Nebraska.  She married Hones H. Behmerwohld in 1928 in Jordon.  They had three sons, Evert, Harry and Walter.
 
    In 1932, the family moved by covered wagon across the Continental Divide to Heron.  Hones and Bertha were later divorced, and she married Cy Tempero in 1940.  They had one son, Manford.  Bertha also had five stepchildren from this second marriage, Cora Ovenicek and Leora Jensen, both deceased, Stella Sellmer of Heron, and Ruth Welch and Chester Tempero both of Spokane.  In 1959 Bertha and Cy moved to Hot Springs with their son Manford.  Cy proceeded Bertha in death in 1966.
 
    Bertha was, above all else, a Mom and Grandma.  She was a longtime Hot Springs resident and has many longtime friends there.
 
    She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Evert and Bettie Behmerwohld of Hot Springs, Harry and Jenny Behmerwohld of Noxon, Walt and Donna Behmerwohld of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Manford and Marvel Tempero of Hot Springs.  Bertha is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren, many great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
 
    She was proceeded in death by one grandson, Terry Ovenicek in 1973 and by one grand daughter, Lana Engel in 1995.
 
    Funeral services were held May 25 at the Heron Community Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Hamshar, and the Rev. Mary Harker officiating.  Burial followed at Heron Cemetery.
